im pretty sure it was carefully written to be so outrageous that everyone was paying attention and freaking out about sopa and pipa, when they knew it would never fly. but in stealth style a number of governments have convened and are "negotiating" ACTA with no citizen democratic process as to if it gets enacted or not. id never even heard of acta until today and ive been following the sopa deally pretty closely. im going to look into it more, but it doesnt sound good. basically world governments have seen how good the internet is at allowing the public to organize themselves, and they DO not like it. this will most likely pass not because they want to protect the rights of the already super rich entertainment industry and to stop fairly negligible piracy, it will pass because they do things we dont like, and the internet is the best way to let people know whats going on and organize against it. http://
