Last night my family and I trooped en mass to Bennigan’s in the anticipatory celebration. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we came back to the house for the opening of presents. I received lots of goodies, sent the boy one out for the obligatory Birthday Cake and Ice Cream, and watched TV for the rest of the evening. A satisfactory celebration.

Yay!! Dan helped me develop my new icon. I realize that I no longer look like this…but I did want an icon that was totally unique and I haven’t liked a photo of me in years. So a very flattering portrait done when I was 16 is my best shot.

I find myself awash in wedding plans. Not actually doing anything. Just planning. I have set myself the task of fussing over my daughter’s wedding just enough that I can’t be accused of fussing. The difficulty when writing for something on the order of a livejournal, is that one knows one is writing for an audience. The advent of my Livejournal notwithstanding, my life is nothing to write home about. For the most part, the excitement in any given week consists of twice weekly trips to the gym, and grocery shopping. Beef roasts, water aerobics and toilet paper…can I take that kind of thrill ( Read more... )

So....My Valentines Day really isn't as bad as it could have been. Jen stopped in last night with a flower and candy for her mom, so spending the day alone and listening to Dan snoring in the basement, is not my whole celebration, just most of it. Why is it that AOL's much vaunted spam filters let me receive approximately 12 to 20 emails a day that are offers of all kinds that are certainly unsolicited and unwanted, but the email verification for livejournal went right to the spam file. Frustrating but at least I finally figured what was happening.

Since my daughter was so kind as to set this up for me and my son was able to gift me with such a fine bio, I feel it encumbent to start this journal with a witty, fabulous entry that will entertain and delight. Ain't gonna happen.
