So I've been working on repairing the parking brake on my wife's 2003 Toyota Sequoia and had an absolute nightmare figuring out how the assembly all went back together. So I obtained the Toyota factory service manual and tried to interpret the exploded diagram of the system. Boy was that a mistake. I guess this is why I'm a technical illustrator by

Kudos to you for this fine write up - during reassembly, I was a little hazy on the tension spring adjuster location and linked into your page and illustration. Your right, these diagrams leave items floating in space - a wiring diagram could not get away with that! This is the way its always been (parts diagram/repair manuals) and I've been a working on cars for 40 years. Maybe your enhancements will be the future standard. My application was 2001 land crusier, same but the hub is five bolt and a little more room to work - and required bellcrank assembly replacement because they corrode and seize.
