So I've been working on repairing the parking brake on my wife's 2003 Toyota Sequoia and had an absolute nightmare figuring out how the assembly all went back together. Kudos to you for this fine write up - during reassembly, I was a little hazy on the tension spring adjuster location and linked into your page and illustration. Your right, these diagrams leave items floating in space - a wiring diagram could not get away with that! This is the way its always been (parts diagram/repair manuals) and I've been a working on cars for 40 years. Maybe your enhancements will be the future standard. My application was 2001 land crusier, same but the hub is five bolt and a little more room to work - and required bellcrank assembly replacement because they corrode and seize.
