So when Michael talks about how vesselness is a bloodline passed down from Cain and Abel, did it sound to anyone else like Cain and Abel did it and had baaaaabies with each other?
...Maybe it's Dean and Sam's DESTINY to do it and have babies with each other. This. Could be hilarious. I often have that reaction to mpreg, but see, the part that's super hilarious is that this is not necessarily an mpreg story. This is a story of Sam and Dean FIGHTING DESTINY and trying to avoid getting knocked up! These boys, they don't take destiny lying down! (Doggie style, though, that's another story.)
I'm not sure whether it would be more hilarious having them start at less extreme measures and fighting harder and harder, or starting at more extreme measures and weakening. Like, here's the two scenarios I envision:
Sam and Dean learn they are destined to do it and have babies. Their reactions: "Well, obviously, we'll just never have sex. I mean, duh." "Right." And then they might have never done it before but now they can't get the thought out of their heads and most of the story is taken up by their epic struggle to avoid admitting to themselves and each other how much they wanna do it now, like many SPN fic, in fact, and Dean is like "OH MY GOD THIS IS STUPID, even if we do it we can't have babies!" and Sam is like, "CONDOMS, WE CAN USE CONDOMS, CAN'T BE TOO CAREFUL."
Or it could be the other way around, they start off at the incest place and they're torqued that this revelation could impact their sex times. You know, first it's just, "Uh... that... can't happen? Right? But let's be on the safe side." And they start using condoms but then they have condom breakage and they're like "...oh. shit. MAYBE IT WOULD BE SAFER IF WE JUST AVOIDED ANAL SEX AND STUCK TO BLOWJOBS OR SOMETHING" and they do that for a while until Dean is bitching about this to Cas in a moment of bizarritude and Cas is like, "No. WHAT? YOU LET YOUR SEED FALL BETWEEN HIS LIPS? THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENS" and then Dean is like, "Okay, no more swallowing, got it," only when he tells Sam, Sam is like, "Look, I give up, we just have to be celibate." And Dean pouts at him for letting their destiny interfere with their sex life.
(Alternatively, Michael could mean that you're only a fit vessel for angels if Cain's descendants and Abel's descendants crossed somewhere in your genealogy. This could potentially explain why not everyone is vessel material--some people can only trace back to Cain or only back to Abel? If their descendants wandered off to like, different continents, that would probably go a fair way to explaining how that could be.)
