Shakespeare is the sole survivor of the change from your list to mine.

Agh! You must read Calvino sometime. 'If On A Winter's Night' is a brilliant, hilarious proto-hypertext novel.

Mhmm. It's a non-linear novel format which originated with Vannavar Bush's legendary thesis, 'What We May Think'.

Though not technically a hypertext novel, since printed on paper rather than on a multimedia format or online, 'If On...' is a wild, certainly non-linear in a traditional sense, read from start to finish by one of the centuries most talented and prolific writers.
