God, he loved her. He might go the rest of his life loving Leslie Knope.

"It's going to be so hard when I have to leave . . ." His voice came out rough with emotion.

"It's going to be hard no matter what," she said, cupping his face in her palms and caressing his cheeks with her thumbs. "Nothing's going to make it easier. So let's just be together now, while we have a chance. This is what I want. What do you want?"

Death to me.

You've developed the connection between this Leslie and this Ben so well that this chapter broke my heart and then made me smile and then made me sad again and basically put me all over the place emotionally hah. And then that last scene with Chris just very good, somber and simple. Thanks for updating!

This was so great. Hot, but so heartbreaking too, knowing that Ben has to leave so soon. And poor Chris. :(

THIS. DAMN. FIC. I have no idea how you've managed to develop Ben and Leslie's relationship over 17 chapters for a year and still have it be this compelling and heartbreaking, oh my god. I don't even know how to keep commenting about how much I love this fic. The heightened emotions - it's something we don't always get in the show, so I'm always craving these sorts of things in fic. Just more dramatic, heightened situations like this, because they're so addicting to read. And I love this so much, still. And I love that even after all this crap, Leslie just wants to make the most of her time with him. And ahh. Oh man.

Love your comments. You know how to make a writer feel appreciated.

And if you like "heightened emotions" and drama, just wait for what I've got planned .

I love how you handled all of the emotions in this chapter. How Leslie really needed to hear from Ben, the real Ben, and their joint sadness. And of course the last scene with Christ ... ugh...heart strings!

Oh, my goodness. I loved the references to "realness." Leslie and Ben now know each other so intimately; they are holding nothing back. A far cry from when this story started.

This was very moving. I am waiting in suspense for the next chapter.
