I finally catch up on part 17 today and part 18 is my reward! IT'S A MIRACLE. But this new little twist CHANGES EVERYTHING and is GIVING ME A LOT OF CONFLICTING FEELINGS. You hold my fate in your hands like a small bird.

The job you have done with building this story up to the point where I can so easily buy why this is a serious dilemma for Ben (and Chris) is amazing. And though Chris has been such an obstacle to Ben and Leslie, he's still such a sympathetic character here, that I can't just think 'oh shut up Chris and let them have this small period of happiness.' It's not an issue for the sake of it. Chris has a very real point, and it's coming from a good place. And the scene with Chris and Leslie was beautiful.

You are the very best, and I can't wait for the next update!

Where is the rest of it? Just kidding. This was exquisite. My favorite part was Ben and Chris' conversation.

I don't know how much more you can raise the stakes without giving the fandom a collective heart attack.
