yes, i thought to ask you, since you do this for a living... i've been researching which OTC drugstore hair dyes don't have that chemical (PPD), and i came up with Clairol Natural Instincts semi-permanent black that washes out in 6-12 shampoos (what i'm using now).
thank you... i stripped the red out of my hair using a colour-remover, then dyed it with the Clairol... but the top part (which was orange) didn't take the black dye, but turned brown. the bottom part (which was yellow-blonde) dyed black.
i'll do more research, and maybe find more dyes that don't have that.
thank you for the tip as well... maybe next time i'll try using normal dye just not putting in on my scalp. any hair mishaps will probably be posted here.

BUT either way...you can color it but just not put the color directly on your scalp. Pregnant women sometimes do it.
