"Deja Vu"
Gnomeregan four more times, Scarlet Monastary Graveyard five times. With Tom working we ended up with a PUG tank, and since losing him would mean waiting for several minutes, we ended up hanging with the new guy all night. All night was shorter than usual, as we broke up at 7:30, but when you break it down, that means we did nine dungeon runs in two and a half hours, or about 16 to 17 minutes per run. That's marvelous efficiency from one standpoint, and Nachtjager did get two levels and is close to a third out of the experience, but I'm starting to wonder if this is really the best way to go about things.
The problem is that most of the new content is in the regular quests around the open world rather than in the instances. And what little new content is in the dungeons we've surely experienced by the second run through. Is there anything besides XP to be gained the fifth, eighth, or ninth times?
By my count we've done Wailing Caverns twice, Deadmines twice, Ragefire once, Shadowfang five times, Stockades twice, and Blackfathom twice. Except for Shadowfang, that's not too bad. But the last couple of weeks? Gnomeregan nine times, Graveyard eight times, and the Library only once.
Sure, our hanging with the lower level tank caused us to be stuck in the Gnomergean-Graveyard loop this week, but even so. Nine times? Ugh.
Nachtjager's got invites to go as far abroad as the newly reclaimed Western Plaguelands, and he hasn't even done so much as a single quest past Duskwood! I just worry we're racing up the levels so fast that we're missing out on all the new content...except for Barb, who's been taking Lefai out and going through green and grey quests just to see them.
Its something to think about, anyway.
Here's the current Wolf:
I've switched allegiance to Stormwind so I can get another 16 slot bag, having already gotten the Gilneas and Darnassus bags. It occurs to me that I can only wear one level 35 faction cloak, so I might as well make it the Gilneas one. Once I've gotten Revered with Stormwind, and thus earned the bag, I'll switch back to Darnassus so I can get Exalted with the elves and buy a Sabrecat mount so I never have to do the stupid crawling around on all fours thing again.
I also gave up on Leatherworking, reasoning that Lefai's already got that covered. I'm keeping Skinning...I like that Critical bonus...but since it doesn't feed anything but Leatherworking, I've made my second skill Herbalism. That way I can feed Lefai's Leatherworking, Miyax's Inscription, and (by killing humanoids and picking disenchant on rolls) Worgenfremon's Tailoring and Enchanting. Plus I get the critical bonus and self-heal. It all works out for the Guild's benefit, I expect.
Speaking of the Guild, here's This Means Worg's "Talent Manager," Velaira, modeling the Guild Tabard that no one wears because we're all rocking the faction tabards. Its a pair of silver wolf heads facing away from each other beneath a full moon on a black background with a silver border.
Finally, in other WoW related news, my brother Matt's WoW account got hacked last night. Blizzard was all over it, and I got the contents of our guild bank mailed to me by customer support, but even so it was pretty disturbing. I signed up for the call verification authenticator service, and so far my own account hasn't been troubled, but even so its rather distressing to have that happen, especially the same week that
this cartoon came out from Penny Arcade about the very same thing.
There are bad people out on the 'net, so plan accordingly.

Velaira, Level 55
Nachtjager, Level 34
