I haven't gotten a lot done lately until this long weekend started, since it was still pretty damp around here, but on Friday I got the yard mowed and started burning some of the brush. I still need to get back out there and do some trimming and spray some more weedkiller, but that's going to have to wait as it started raining again on Saturday ( Read more... )

Make that thing mailbox-baseball-proof.

It should be. The mailbox itself is very stout and the pipe is sturdy. I'm hoping that if it gets whacked or driven-into, it will be more inclined to topple over than be crushed. Failing that, I think the next weak link is the lumber I used to attach the pipe to the mailbox. I suppose only time will tell though, right?
