Elza, the female trickster

Have you considered that Bernadotte might have been Ptolemy in the past? Like Ptolemy he held his crown when the Empire collapsed, and he did a good job as king. His relationship with Napoleon was different than with Alexander, but then, Napoleon had a flaw, that he could not stop warring.

Knowing what I know of Napoleon, and the Civil Code he helped write, I am surprised that a proto-feminist like Elza could be smitten by him. He thoroughly deprived Frenchwomen of any rights.
