On Saturday, my uncle (mom's brother) got an email from a woman who told him that she was his neice. Man, that's far more cool than how I found out about my mystery cousin, which was mainly my uncle looking a bit shellshokced and then explaining he'd just heard from a girlfriend he had in high school. Apparently she deliberately got pregnant by him and then moved away with her girlfriend to raise the child, and was only calling him 15 or so years on to let him know in case of needing a new kidney or whatever for her kid, who was uninterested in meeting his birth father. His loss; my uncle is an awesome guy.

Pretty sure the three kids he knew very well he was having come first in terms of kidneys, though.

Wow. I'm not sure I can imagine not being interested in meeting one's bio-parents. Even if the kid wasn't into starting a relationship or anything, you'd think only a one-time meeting would be good. *shrug*

Hey, you have an awesome uncle, too?!? ;) I think everyone should have one! :D

Having an awesome uncle is a good thing. :3 I have quite a few uncles who are nice guys - my Uncle Tim is fairly cool, although it amuses me that he's my godfather and a Zen Buddhist whereas I'm Anglican - but they're mostly married in. Of the 13 siblings my parents have between them, only 3 are men, and only one of those is truly awesome. :3
