My landlord is a clod. No, really. His name is Claude.
A few months ago, he bought the apartment building I live in, and now, with no suggestion of upgrades or repairs, he increased our rent by nearly 10%. Bastard! My bathtub has been rusting through since we moved in, the cabinets don't close properly due to the building's shifting, we often get

God, I had a landlady like that. She also wouldn't spell her last name for us and insisted on rent paid in cash. So. Move. Good luck with the search.
