I love both the poems, but for different reasons: I like the sound of "Got Me" better though I'm biased in that regard because I'm drawn to poetry with a natural rhythm... meter?... to it - it doesn't necessarily have to rhyme, but if the structure allows me to read it to a certain rhythm, I follow it more easily. My favorite of both is the last stanza in "Fruit". Just BEAUTIFUL. Rolls off my mental "tongue" just like a song. I still say you should start a band, dangit. Three Days Straight! but don't ask me to be lead singer 'cause the audience will want to know who the frog is. Hee.
*ahem* Anyway: I can't find a rhythm as easily in the opening of "Fruit," but I prefer the imagery and sensuality in it over "Got Me" (the zesty sigh of an orange... Can't you just hear it?) One thing I think - there's too much color-repetition... the alternate color reference "the blood of ( ... )
