How long is your winter? I know you have a slower aging mod, but that's a darn long season there.

The kids are adorable, if a bit scruffy. I suppose they're better off now that they feed them at school and all, but I can only imagine what their fun levels will be like after school with only gardening and the tub to raise fun.

5 days. I think it must have been a cold autumn and I just thought winter was over when the snow melted or something as I seem to have been rushing sims to the fire place/'inside' for days.

So much better as I can have a toilet, juicer and the activity table and not worry about toddlers passing out and peeing themselves. Red hands is the old age standby for me poor sims. It raises fun quicker than anything. What is difficult is juggling the tent between 4 of them.

Hmmm, I thought you had longer seasons or something. Oh well, all over now. :)

Hahaha, poor Jemima being born into such a family with her personality traits. :)

"..peasant mother.." I had a nice long laugh over that one! Looks like you have one to garden and the other to clean the toilet :D Congratulations on surviving the toddlerhood, especially under these extreme circumstances - wow!

Normally I like my double age mod, but 8 days of toddlerhood here was more than enough. Glad you found that amusing. :D

LOL at "peasant mother" and "Den... I shall scweam and scweam!" Obviously the poor fellow who beat up the snowman is mentally challenged, though: only a leaf in wintertime? :/

Such a fun challenge! Hope the warm winter holds for you. :)

I have a lot of mentally deranged sims wondering around it seems. That leaf was some kind of unlocked outfit and it's very popular with townies as winter outerwear.

I think things will be easier now the kids can go to school-or I hope so.

This is great, I really love reading it, and getting more ideas!
Raiding the bookcase - check! Kid warming himself with the stove - check! Missing the carpool - check! :D
Cute, cute kids. Jemima reminds me of Pippy Longstocking in her white shirt!
So... the adults eventually get days off? Do you remember what level?
In my playtest, toddler is now a child and it's two days into winter. No temperature problems so far, but no snow on the ground yet either.
I downloaded that peeable shrub Esme linked to, and both the player and inner child in me loves it! It's not even technically cheating, because it's in Buy Mode!
(Going to load up my playtest hood and play some more. When winter is over, I'll have them adopt a baby for expediency's sake and see how it goes...)

Feel free to take the ideas. Meditating is great, as far as I can tell nothing stops it unless you manualy click it out.

Lol you're right, she does!

I think level four? Really not sure on that but they do get days off as my other homeless family played to my own rules has them.

I think you mean build mode. That would probably be classed as 'cc that gives an advantage' but I'm not as good a player as callista and it seems like a reasonable kind of thing. Apart from the toddler blanket I did cheat once with the car pool as I clicked the wrong thing one day and sent him to do yoga instead of meditate. I meant to click mediate, but I figure I either cross off the car pool or I fail because the kids would have come home and been taken. If I had been thinking I wouldn't have saved. I tried it to see and the SW came at the same time as the mother did.

Adopting is clever as there is no pregnancy and I think they still get days off. Could be a good strategy.

The toilet shrub is with the other toilets in buy mode and I'm counting it as a regular toilet, so I'm not getting the advantage I thought I would with it, just more realism. I'm only adopting for the playtest to get a baby quick. I've read you need 3000 in cash to adopt, and a homeless family normally wouldn't have that.

My playtest family is now two days into Spring, the snow hasn't melted so they're still cold and huddling around the fireplace for warmth, but it is totally possible for a child to survive Winter with no shelter! I'll try the baby in either late Spring, Summer, or early Fall, probably tomorrow night.

Also, I'm seriously considering modifying the allowed buy-mode objects to 3 for each adult, 2 for each teen, and 1 for each baby/toddler/child. Having to choose between decent hygiene and skilling is making it too much like an Apocalypse.
