i'd stayed up til 4am, and then spent most of the following day trying to read a poorly written science journalist's take on any sort of mind science (ranging from cognitive, to neuropsyc, to freudian theories, to genetic determinism).

not only was it poorly written, but it was a dry, mind-numbing topic. and i had a paper-writing session waiting for me, to respond to that book. *puke*

i was literally dizzy from reading at that point :p
