The 20 "OTPs" meme

Mar 06, 2009 22:34

(OTPs in quotes because I don't have OTPs as I understand them - these are some preferred pairings of mine in various fandoms - and 20 because I thought of more than 15. And I did intend to do this meme as well - I just forgot it in the lists. And it's faster than the Association Meme and way faster than the Year In Fic meme - oh dear god was I ( Read more... )

>>4. Genderbending rockstar, rebel in black leather, glam rock.<< You see, I'd say that was Curt Wilde and Brian Slade (or whatever the not David Bowie was called) from Velvet Goldmine, but it could just as easily go for the people who they're not quite playing.

>>5. Vintage military, modern doctor. Tension and snark, but love underneath.<< I don't know if it is them or not, but it's a wonderful description of Owen and Jack.

>>Mutants in love. In canon.<< I take it that its not Gambit and Rogue ;)

4. That's what I was hoping someone could say - that it could be either. It's the RPF version ;)

5. That's exactly who it is. And thank you :)

18. Seeing that they weren't in the movies, no ;) Though they could certainly fit.

9. Unconventional artist, rebel in black leather. Consummation isn't the only measure of love.

Brian Epstein/John Lennon? Maybe?

I love the answer, but no. American, but you do have the music scene part right. It does fit Brian and John rather well, though.

Hmmm. I thought the lack of consummation was the tip-off. John Lennon: "it was almost a love affair, but not quite. It was never consummated. But we did have a pretty intense relationship."

I shall wait with interest to find out the correct answer...

I hadn't heard that John had said that. It's shocking how well the description fits them.

As it has been guessed, I will let you know that it was Lou Reed/Andy Warhol, who have (now I've thought about it) surprising similarities to Brian/John - singer and manager, lots of interesting speculative fodder, no reason to think they were ever together, but no reason they couldn't have been at some point. It's really amazing how close they are.

20. Cal/Stephen, State of Play?

Yes. Not completely impossible. Very unlikely, but I think it could be done. It'd take a novel, writing wise, though.

It's also very appropriate that you got this one - it was your talking about them that got me to actually get the DVDs, well, you and karaokegal between you :)

19. I just want to say X Files, is it Fox/Mulder? They kissed, didn't they? Or has it been so long that I am imagining that?

Yes - you mean Scully/Mulder but I know who you mean so it's right *g*
