On my way home from work tonight, the front driver's-side tire blew out. The car kind of juddered and twisted, but I kept it under control and pulled off the road. that happened to me last thanksgiving. it sucks when you're tire blows out because there's that moment right after where you're still going fast and you feel like you have no control whatsoever over the car. i'm glad to hear that everything worked out for you.

be careful though- those diving dragonflies can be real death traps.

I know! I think the dragonfly might have gotten me closer to crashing than the tire. I didn't actually swerve much with the tire because I heard it pop and knew instantly what it was and was concentrating on the car, but with the dragonfly I was all, "gaugh!"

Wow, that is a rather harrowing adventure but it appears to have turned out well. Changing one's own tires really is a rather fortifying experience, isn't it?

You haven't asked for advice, but I'll offer it anyway: It's a good investment to join AAA. Back when I had a car, they bailed me out of a few situations that would otherwise have cost me a great deal of money and headaches.

Yeah, that was the first question the police officer asked and I felt really dumb saying no. I intend to get a membership.
