Or I might have just read too much Harry Potter.

This story doesn't seem to actually say anything, and yet it may be terribly important, depending on what this new ministry actually does.

Meh, shuffling the deck, basically the same guys in charge, right? Probably won't make much difference.

Although it's good to see that Strahl is no longer in charge of the Canadian Wheat Board, what with his attempts to destroy it, never mind the opinions of the membership.

Also, good to see Bev Oda no longer is Heritage Minister. At a press conference last year, Cory Doctorow and the EFF nerds asked her if she would stop taking campaign contributions from the industry she's responsible for regulating, and she said something like "We refuse to be pressured by fringe special-interest groups".

Personal attack combined with dodging the question/issue, pretty much what we expect from modern political discourse, eh?

All good points.

I was a little concerned the new ministry was going to be called Ministry of Homeland Security or some such.

Since seeing the film of Order of the Phoenix, one of my colleagues has been referring to our new big boss as Umbridge.

I think that I've hit that point where I automatically think of anything to do with Harper as a stupid farce - I read one of the bullets as "vigorously *tickle* crime"

WRT to amelia_eve's comment: Ha. Effing brilliant!! :D

Yes, I tend to do that as well. The man could cure cancer and I'd be trying to figure out how he's going to use the cure to fuck us all.
