As I understand it, they didn't remove stuff that VB wrote, they removed their own work linking to or pointing to her blog, right?
If they'd actually removed her work, that'd be a bit more, "Uh, guys, I thought you were anti-censorship", but I basically support my own right to say, go back and delete a LJ post from a year ago.
It's not really a censorship issue if you delete your own work, is it?
But yeah, sure are a lot of people weighing in on this, eh?

I think it's an issue because they're making it look as though they never linked to her to begin with, which is certainly their right, but goes against their past advocating for complete transparency (strikethroughs for edits, that kind of thing).

Where the boingboing crew, on the issue of IP, makes me look like an RIAA lobbyist, that's the only thing I can think of that's possibly a bone of contention?
