When I was a little girl, telephones were made of hard plastic. You got them from the phone company and they were attached to the wall.  If you were waiting for an important call, you had to stay home because there was no voice mail or answering machines.

and the beat goes on. The beat goes on.

Sony's dead and Share is the poster girl for cuogers and chastity is changing genders.
The President is a "Negro" and children know more about computers than their parents.
We honor the trops even if we hate the war.
The racist, the sexist, and the pro lifers all have women as figureheads.

Global is the view of the world
You make a profit by putting people out of work.

The U,S. is the new Roman empire, with the same end result in the cards.

We sure have seen an awful lot of (awful) stuff in our lifetimes.

My mother in law once told me that when she was in high school (in the mid 1950s) her guidance counselor suggested that she become a bean-sorter, because she had such a strong attention to detail. She went on to get a Masters degree in counseling, many years later. At the time she told me, I thought "women today have it so much better", but there have been times recently when I have had to work really hard to avoid ending up in a job that is the modern equivalent of bean-sorting. The struggle continues.
