obligatory second entry

Well, I put in my goal_posts goals that I would do two lj entries this week, in an attempt to spur my creativity and to make sure to make use of lj since, after all, why have an lj if I don't use it...but I am totally uninspired and blah-feeling about either coming up with some deep musings or sharing my everyday life.  The combination of the wet, humid, HOT weather and the anxiety over Rupel's job search (there is something, but it's not finalized yet, and I will feel anxious until it is) is really getting me down and is NOT conducive to creativity.

But since I'm here, what's up...Doodle read all of "The Incredible Journey" in ONE day--wah that's incredible!  I'm really glad I instituted this point system for things like reading chapter books, practicing without being asked, practicing dives and laps, worksheets, etc. etc....I wish I could have applied it more for cleaning up (still can, I suppose).  I can't believe it is August and there is only a month and a bit left of summer vacation.  I am glad that TQS (like most of the private schools around here) starts late.  I like summer vacation with Doodle.

Also proud that I went above and beyond on my goal_posts goals--especially decluttering in the bedroom.  At least that room has AC--makes it much more conducive to decluttering.  Goodbye to a lot of clothes (mostly for Goodwill or http://www.afsc.org/ --if their website is any indication, they are still collecting material aid and the rumor I heard from SL that they were phasing it out is hopefully just a rumor).  Goodbye to shoes, either to Goodwill/AFSC or trash.  Goodbye to books--now I have a lot of bags of books waiting for the book exchange store (or I might break down and give them to the Friends of the Free Library Bookstore, since the book exchange store is all the way up by Doodle's school and I have no reason to go there right at the moment).

Mymble was quite the meowingest kitty this morning.  How dare we not rouse ourselves to constantly pat her!

Well, for a boring entry in which I couldn't find much to say, I certainly said enough.  Later!
