having been through a store closing myself, i can appreciate the nastiness of the choice you are faced with. however, if you decide to stick it out through to the end, you may find that your store's imminent closure is a wonderful reason to cease holding your tongue when confronted by moronic/belligerent customers (at least i did that and enjoyed it, but maybe it's because i'm so passive-aggressive).

i hope everything works out for the best, though!

I still gotta hold my tongue somewhat - not only do they still secret-shop us, but I want to remain on good terms in case I need to go crawling back in a few months. But there is definitely a bit less restraint going around.

oh no! you would think that if they're going to put you through the indignity of closing your own store for business that you could at least be spared the hassle of a secret shopper. unfair, in my opinion.
