Gil had been sleeping a lot better, took him a bit always still expecting a call that he needed to come into the lab. Though he had Sara to make sure he got rest. Now it was just part of his life. They had needed to take samples from the volcano just outside of the city early in the morning, and while she knew Grissom would be welcome to join the expedition, she'd opted instead t0 let him sleep, and to let him explore the bugs on the island. Her team had been more than willing to adopt her wayward scientist when he'd shown up, because none of them were even remotely close to entomologists, and simply adding another scientist to the group had been easy.

They'd gathered the required samples while it was still early, trying to avoid the worst of the heat out of the shade of the forest, and hiked back down, reaching camp about an hour or so before Grissom made it back.

She laughed as he kissed her, setting down the two cups of coffee she'd made for them and wrapping her arms around his waist. "Good morning!"

"How was the sample gathering?"

He pulled her closer and smiled then and stroked her cheek lovingly. He kissed her again then softly.

"Mmmm, it was good. Got some good samples of the rock and took some good pictures of the animals that are starting to live up there," She grinned, tilting her cheek into his hand. "How were the bugs?"

"Good. So many different species. I wrote it all down." He smiled softly.
