I remembered to set my video for Dr Who (I'm sure that you've all been desperate to know that) and I am completely convinced by David Tennant in the role of the Doctor (and I speak as someone whose first doctor was Patrick Troughton). I can't wait until the next episode. Meanwhile, I've been watching the extra stuff on BBC3. Oh dear, I am clearly ( Read more... )

I'm really glad to hear that the magnet worked. They do absolutely nothing for me (I've tried them for wrist and for period pain, to no effect in either case), but it's good to know that other people have more luck with them. I hope the effects are long-term.

Thank you, so so I. Have you tried a plain copper bangle for your wrist pain?

There's nothing 'saddo' about being a 'New Who' fan - there are plenty of us! Check out the new_who journal. And I assume you've visited the splendid BBC website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho?

Thanks for the recommendation. In fact I have already checked out the official website (I thought of you when I got to the the bit about 'Ladies' ratings going up with the appearance of Captain Jack ;)) and I am seriously considering buying volume one of the the new series, when it comes out on DVD on 1st May. Also I have discovered that my brother-in -law has the whole of the first series on tape, so I am going to borrow it and catch up. I have definitely got the bug.
I've always thought of avid Doctor Who fans as being drawn form the same pool as train spotters but maybe the New Who is less geeky.

I think that old-school Whovians to tend to be a bit train-spotterish, but the new ones are certainly less geeky!

Enjoy the first series, there are some great episodes there. :-)
