It seems that it has been more than a month since I last posted. During that time the firm for which I work has merged and instead of being in the City, I am now in the SW1 area of London. Frankly, it has been a bit of a culture shock which is going to take some getting used to. I fear that my secretary, will not stay beyond Christmas and another ( Read more... )

I was wondering where you were, but I know you're very busy with work and your many cultural exploits so I figured you'd show up eventually. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble at work, I hope it will sort itself out soon. Btw, hope you don't mind my asking, but what is your line of work? *curious*

You know me too well. I never actually go away for good but disappear for ages then turn up like a bad penny. What with my hours of work and cultural pursuits, I'm never going to be a regular poster I'm afraid.
For my sins, I am a lawyer.

Lupus street?
that must mean that you work in the environs of Victoria station , or near Pimlico, one of my old haunts.

Hope you get to like it, it's quite nice in the summertime. Is the Sundial pub still there? It used to be quite good. Up Elizabeth Street, on the left.

I am indeed in the Pimlico area, which means that I am now an habitual user of the Victoria Line and one day, I shall run into you at Oxford Circus.
I have not yet come across the Sundial pub but I shall look it out.

You are most likely to find me on the upper levels of the station. I only hit the platforms in an emergency, but it does happen.

At the top of Elizabeth Steet, I think there is a petrol station . near that you find the Sundial. It would be great if you, Lila, and i could do lunch there sometime...

OMG!
It is now 'the Belgravia Arms'!

Now that Oxford Circus is only three stops away, the lure of HMV is bound to draw me, so I shall be looking out for you. In fact, I alwys do look out for you, I just never seem to see you.

Did you enjoy Torchwood? A good bit of escapism, filmed on my doorstep! heheh!

I do miss your posts, and I hope that things will get better in your new location. We all face challenges at different times of our lives. I makes us who we are!

I enjoyed Torchwood very much. It's nice to see some good adult, British science fiction, with high production values. Have you run into any of the filming?
I have been a pretty poor user of LJ since day one and I'm never going to have time to log on every day. However, with things getting back onto a slightly more even keel, I hope to get in at least every weekend.
I appreciate that I must sound like a whinger. After all, I still have a job. However, it has been a major change in my rather conservative life. I quite agree that facing up to challenges makes us who we are, and, I hope makes us better. I think I probably needed something like this to shake me up a bit.

I hope you enjoyed Torchwood and it took your mind off the stresses and strains of your life. It must be quite a trauma to move from the City to SW1, so I sympathise. I hope that things settle down soon.

Thank you. I did enjoy Torchwood and was pleasantly surprised by the 'adult' content. I just wish they'd put the lovely Mr Barrowman in some better clothes. What did you think of it?

I enjoyed Torchwood a lot, although I'm waiting eagerly for tonight's episode to see how it settles down after the first 2 episodes. I quite like his clothes, although I think the belt AND braces is overkill, and the hair isn't quite right. But I like the swishy coat. :-)

I haven't had time to watch episode three yet, so I shan't be tuning in tonight.

The City of London being the premiere commercial centre of Europe is very lively, whereas SW1, as a primarily residential area is somewhat dull.
