And when I break that rule: I am not allowed in yarn stores with my debit card. I must bring cash only, and therefore my purchasing is capped at the pre-established dollar amount.
I have better luck sticking to rule 2.
Also, scarf pics when you have them! I can make everything else in the world except scarves and blankets. For some reason, I have never mastered crocheting a rectangle.
PS -- You wouldn't want to trade a knitted scarf for a crocheted hat (or handbag? or shawl? or halter top?), would you? That way, we might appropriate some purpose to our yarngasms.
What kind of scarf are you thinking? The one I just bought material for is a really pretty cable pattern, if you are into cables at all - it is here.
I could also do a wider sort of scarf, with a flatter surface. I picked up a fun pattern a while ago that has a bunch of different texture types that one can use for scarves. You can see some photos of how it looks with kind of a mish-mash of textures here.
Or if you see something (a pattern or just a picture) somewhere, I could (probably) replicate it.
