Fuck

So, Jeff and I were hanging out with a bunch of friends. Perhaps drinking. And we were running low on beverages, so we sent a friend (who will go unnamed) to make a beverage-store run in Jeff's car. That friend then somehow managed to smash into my parked car, crumbling the back of it and crushing the front end into a tree. So my car is a fucking ( Read more... )

I guess this is public and therefore deleteable...but I would just wait until everyone is cool in the morning and hide jeff's car if it has any damage and say someone hit my car in the middle of the night...or something....cause your car, based on the description, will probably cost more than 1k to fix..even if it is old...

My dad already knows, and he won't allow that. Plus the people who saw it (not car experts, mind you, but boys, which gives them a little credibility in my head) say it shouldn't be more than a grand ... and I don't want my premiums to go up ...

damn. we've been talking about the guy just buying me a new car, since the blue book value was $1,200 before the accident.

I hope you trust this guy who smashed into your car. You'd be surprised how people can get when they owe you large sums of money. If I were you, I would draw something up and have them sign it. Not from a lawyer or anything, but just in case you need proof at some point that this is what your deal was. Seriously - think about it.

I have been. I really think he's good for it, but I'm afraid he's going to take a loooooong-ass time to pay me back. :(

that really sucks. looks like more than a grand to me.

Does the guy that did the damage have a full coverage on his vehicle, if so, his ins. company might cover the damage. I know some auto ins. companies have polocies that cover a driver, not just the vehicle. It would definite be something to ask about.

The guy who hit it doesn't have insurance, so it would go on Jeff's policy. And he can't afford that. :(

Lame. I'm sorry that happened to you. I have a 1980 toyota corolla with 100k. They're good little cars.
