It's like that here too...most of the bras are padded. The padding thing is at least somewhat acceptable in smaller sizes but I am at a loss as to why something like a 38DD needs to be padded. That's just being silly.
I know! Goodness. I did try on one of the padded bras, but the padded edges are clearly visible against the shirt fabric - everybody could see it. Now I'll be watching other ladies to see if they wear padded bras. :P
I have troubles finding comfy bras too. I usually get the ones with the wires and no padding or light padding. I think the light padding is mostly to hide projecting nipples. It is winter. Anyway, Lane Bryant bras are pretty good ones but they are so expensive. They have sales like "Buy one, get the second half off" which is good, but considering most of the bras are like $30-40 to start with, you're still dropping a small fortune for them. I have to shop from the clearance racks which usually has the crazy loud prints. You can't wear a bright tropical flowered bra under very many shirts. XD

*recalls Madonna's cone bra*
I know the single-layer, cheap cotton bras I usually get don't do much to conceal the nips. *brrr*
