Well, I’ve updated to Wordpress 2.5. With that, I’ve also changed my theme to one that supports widgets.

I'm nervous about upgrading to 2.5 because when I upgraded to 2.4, it messed my install up so badly I had to just delete the whole thing, and reinstall it from scratch. Thankfully, wordpress has a very nice export feature for just such an occasion.

before you upgrade:
a) backup the database
b) backup the install

after that, if it breaks, restore it, and figure out what went wrong. I do that for anything but the most minor of point releases.

Now you see, there was no 2 minute dance party involved in those instructions, and any procedure that doesn't involve a two minute dance party are procedures I have no desire to involve myself in.
