Remember what we always used to say to each other right before battle, Joe? Life's a cast iron bitch. And then, if you're lucky, you die.
Call it karma, call it destiny, call it whatever the hell you like. But some of us came into this world pointed in only one direction. Nobody's fault.
Hakase told me a long time ago that my father didn't leave me when I was four years old because he was heartless...he left me because if he hadn't, there might not have been a world for me to keep living in. Even if that living was without him.
Sometimes we just have to try to see other people's reasons, that's all.

Hmmmm. Seems like I have a lot of catching up to do here. ::Bangs side of head with heel of hand.::
At the risk of getting the furniture thrown at me (and let's face it, both of you have done that to me in the past, more than once!), I can see that one thing hasn't changed about you two...the bottomless need for angst-ridden wallowing! What would happen if either of you suddenly got what you wanted? I think you'd probably scream and run a mile...
Oh, man. As usual I can't keep up with the revolving door of your relationships, Joe... (And yes, I do remember who Lucy is. Or was, on our world.)
But I'm still talking about you and Jun...!
Fair warning, bro...I'm thinking seriously about talking her into giving us another shot. I've learned my lesson about waiting until things are perfect...because that time never comes.
*Lets herself into Joe's apartment with her key. Deposits the one she tried to give him in an envelope on the coffee table. Goes to let herself out and says aloud, softly*
I hope you know that I care about you and that...I think we can get through this. I miss you, Jo--. But I'm looking forward to when we can be happy.

I just don't think I have the right to take a peaceful life away from Lucy.
See, there's a world where she's alive. And well. And not a cyborg. Nor touched by Galactor.
A world where she's safe, and happy, and has never known me.
And I can be content with that.

Ite. What are you doing now, Princess?
