I used to do the same thing.. kids thundering past my bedroom window (which was next to the corridor) when I was trying to sleep since I am such a night owl. So I banged on the window (those metal flaps) and yelled really fiercely "Don't be so noisy!!"

They moved away.. think they scared of me.
