what my boss thinks of me!

On Friday night at an award ceremony my boss told me that sometimes he hates my f***ing guts - as you can imagine I was very upset by this remark. He then went on to say that sometimes he admires me and loves my passion for the work I do but he still hates me at times. How do I handle that? He was drunk but still! My Manager is not at all

It's like a little child playing at being a grown up. Another question is whether he will learn from it - seeing as there are a large number of very peed off managers, over this - although given the past it seems unlikely that the episode will be learned from!!
