It was working fine up until this morning, when I turned it on (or tried to) after waking up. The power came on fine, but the screen stayed black. My friend has one too, he likes it.

It does not help you at this immediate moment, but when my PC started to act all wonky on me, I got a 500GB Western Digital drive that backs up my computer every other day. Maybe that is something to look at when the PC comes back.

I got it about six months ago or so, and it was only $120 US.

My office bought one of those for one of our workers, and I had to configure it. You're right, it's a tiny keyboard, and it drove me crazy! I wasn't fond of the whining sound of the hard drive, either (or the fan, I'm still not sure).

I like the size of the unit, though. It's an elegant computer.

Those little netbooks are handy. I thought about getting one.

I had the same problem you had with the notebook screen going black, but everything would spin up. I had unplug the power, remove the battery and then hold the power button for like 30 or so seconds. Then reattach the power cord and attempt a boot. If it boots back up, shutdown, put the battery back in and it should be ok unless there is a hardware problem. Some reason, it goes to sleep and can't get back up...kinda like me this morning hah
