If you're confused (and don't know why) go install chinese character sets.

It took me a couple seconds. But then I figured it out. And I don't care enough to install them. :)

If 讀 is type and 電腦 is computer, probably, but I don't know either of those characters. (I know 電, but not 電腦)

Actually, there are probably lots of things those could be that would make sense, that's just the one that occurred to me.

Ah, going with the traditional route. 你可以写简体字吗? 我觉得简体字比较很快写, 可是我应该也念繁体字. NJStar Chinese WP 是你的朋友吗? 我很喜欢它的pop-up词典功用.

What book are you using in your Chinese class?

Let's see if i can translate: "Can you write (simplified characters， I'm guessing by context and what pops up in the input program for simplified)? I think think simplified characters...something...fast to write? but I....dunno. Is NJStar Chinese WP your friend?(The heck?) I really like something's pop-up something."

Whee, that was fun. And ya, our book uses traditional, though I'm trying to learn to recognize simplified, at least the common variations (like the 马 difference and the 现 difference.)

We're using "Integrated Chinese, Traditional Character Edition". It's the same one Sophia used.

Ooh, that's the same book series Melody and I are using as well. If you continue with Level 2 of that series, you'll need to learn how to read both sets of characters anyway. :) Have fun with Wang Peng and Li You!
