I cannot get anything to work lately. We have a computer that has two user log-ons for N and me. N's side is working great. My side keeps locking up on me. I've uninstalled my download sites. this is what i bought. i like it cuz i'm able to hook it up to the vcr and it has flexible recording so it fits your recording on the disc.

it's completely replaced my vcr. i love it cuz i'll record my tv shows on it and bypass all the commercials.

The only reason we didn't buy a stand alone dvd recorder is because my vcr is 11 years old. I was afraid the picture quality wouldn't be any good. I'll try again tonight, but I think I'm going to return this unit and get something else. I may just buy one like yours.

ah. yeah. an 11 yr old vcr won't give you good quality.

Success!!! I finally got the recorder to work. I unhooked the cable from the unit and just hooked up the A/V wires from the unit to the tv. That worked. I've already recorded 4 vhs tapes. I tried to record Picture Show, but it gave me a message saying "Cannot copy copyrighted material." I don't see how Picture Show is copy protected when the rest of the Cure videos are not. I'm sure there's a way around this, but I'm not going to bother with it.
