I was really digging this post until you said "The guy who played Lucas Arts' Monkey Island computer games for countless hours as a young boy," then I felt really really old. I must have been in my early twenties when I played those games. And I never managed to finish one of 'em either.

I must have played and finished the first two close to ten times, and the third one once. I was a wee bit obsessed. Never played the fourth, though. By then I was too old and had moved on, probably about nineteen years old.
