Monday morning thoughts

Do you know, if you're gonna do no more than the cycle to work, I'd recommend just getting yourself a second-hand mountain bike. You want gears, cos they make cycling possible. The more the better, in fact. Then invest in a toolkit, fit mudguards with pannier attachments, handlebar-ends (makes you sit upright), a new seat, and slicker road tyres and you'll be sorted. A bit of oil every now and then and you'll be sorted.

My dream last night culminated in Mo beating up a boy who was mean to me and me slapping an old lady. I'm worried about my psyche now!

I have (had - grrr!) a hybrid, which is a cross between a road bike and a mountain bike. I found it great for zipping across London, but it wasn't kooky cool. It was black.

Also, your new company looks fabulous!

congratulations on the job! sounds excellent.

i have this bike http://www.dawescycles.com/dawes/mojave-ladies.htm which whilst not very trendy is very dependable - not too heavy, takes panniers, 18 gears, upright cycling position etc. and certainly easier on the legs than the ancient old thing I used to have in Cambridge...
