It takes place on the Rivers of America, before park opening, during July and August. Basically we row around Tom Sawyer's Island counter-clockwise, so the folks who row around the island clockwise all day long don't have an unfair advantage.
If you follow the picasa link at the bottom of the entry, Christine got some nice shots of the river.
GG stands for "Guys & Gals" officially, but I suspect that the original meaning is some obscure bit of Anime trivia.
We did a license plate logo this year simply because we thought that a GGXX license would be cool...
DLR is Disneyland Resort - Disney thrives on acronyms.
06:30 was our row time this year.
And the little characters are "Pupa-Nolas" ... and the story behind them involves our team captain eating a granola bar on a cold balcony in Maine while encased in a sleeping bag. They've been our unofficial mascots every since. (Prior to that, we could count on random and obscure anime characters, which I helped perpetuate with the GG XVIII logo.)
