Calling all techies

Mar 17, 2005 12:17

Do any of y'all have experience with colocation providers in the SF area? My fledgling business needs to set up a couple of servers for hosting, and I'm wondering how to find a reliable but not too expensive home for them. I was just going to get business DSL in the house, but apparently I live too far away from the freaking switch.

Thanks in

I'm happy with bifrosty2k's company UnitedLayer.

I would call either Rudy at Monkeybrains (http://www.monkeybrains.net> or Tom at United Layer. They are in a facility over at 200 Paul Avenue in the city.

Contact me for Tom's number.

bifrosty2k is Tom. I have this unnatural compulsion to call people by their real names.

365 main is good but they're probably way higher end than you want.
but hey if there's an earthquake they have their own water power etc. :)

I'm colo'ed with Layer 42, which is actually an aggregated colo provider inside a Terremark site in Santa Clara. They're pretty inexpensive, especially for low-requirements customers. Also, the facility is about 10 minutes from my house, so if you need remote hands service I can probably help you with that.
