That's great news! How interesting. Isn't it something to do with helping keep the neuron fatty sheaths healthy? Something like that. Anyway, if it works, that's the main thing. As long as it doesn't break the bank, good stuff. Also, placebo, totally works :)

Not sure if xactly what it does - although I know in general it's good for your heart and brain - but somehow it reduces the inflammation reaction of the immune system and people suffering from depression have been shown to have a higher inflammation level like the immune system is reacting to a threat of some kind. I just feel like the cloud that parks itself in my brain has lifted a bit.

If you read the article it likens depression to the lethargy and such you feel when you're ill, which is your body's way of making you rest so it can fight an illness and as a sufferer that is exactly what it feels like to me, the lack of focus and energy you get with a bad cold. So reading the article it just clicked and I was like, huh, that really makes sense that the two would be linked.

That would make sense! I don't think they know how it works, but that's nothing new :D

Apparently people on immune system boosting drugs, like cancer sufferers, have a higher rate of depression. Although if that was their only evidence I'd be more sceptical since I'd suggest they might be more likely to be depressed because they have cancer!

Try magnesium too. A doctor suggested it to me and it works well. It quietens the synapsis, improve the sleep and helps with social anxiety
