Of Rainbows and Blue Skys

Today started like any other. I rolled out of bed to the sound of some inconsiderate dick thinking they would be thoughtful and inquire to my dads health. Increasingly I belive this is simply to placate their own sence of morbidity, espically at 8 in the morning. Note to all courious bystanders. Do NOT phone the faimly until at least 10:00. That sounds good :) Mirror image of the rainbow eh? I never thought the fainter one was mirrored. I guess I have not seen it in detail. I'd like to see an explanation of that one.... A rainbow of a rainbow....?

Ah here it is.. and heres why!

http://ww2010.atmos.uiuc.edu/(Gh)/wwhlpr/secondary_rainbow.rxml?hret=/indexlist.rxml

A secondary rainbow appears outside of a primary rainbow and develops when light entering a raindrop undergoes two internal reflections instead of just one (as is the case with a primary rainbow). The intensity of light is reduced even further by the second reflection, so secondary rainbows are not as bright as primary rainbows. Alternatively: fewer light rays go through the four-step sequence than the three-step sequence.

The two refelections must flip it... theres a good picture here too!

Cool!

Hey no worries. I wouldn't want to see me streaking to the bathroom in my undies either. You, your sister and I should hang out, maybe head down to castle fun park or something (if you're on the mainland that is)
