I just saw that he "revived" the concept as the tv show.. which means he must have secured the rights to the story at some point, but didn't create it.

Well, yeah, what a suckfest. I mean.. the guy transforms your property into a multi-million dollar ticket.. you *might* want to keep him around. :P
