Actually, I've been reading Nouwen's books as part of my classes this year the first was "The Greatest Gift" and now it's "Can You Drink the Cup?" They're both just amazing. Right now I'm reading "As for me and my house", a great book by Walter Wangerin (sounds like Wangelin but with an asian accent) that Winningham recommended.
It's been a long road, but facing griefs and sorrows and being honest about htem really does claer the way to seeing the joys in our lives. Ignoring them gives us a "Diet Coke" existence...just one calorie, not even enough...

We must be on the same mental wavelength right now, though you reached it three years earlier than I did.. Praise God for you, bro.
Have you heard of Henri Nouwen? I have a feeling you'd enjoy reading some of his stuff...
Keep it real in Cali..
In Christ,
Josh K.
