Worked my Sunday OT shift for the contract. Even with the swap out of managers on this contract my extra hours has not been called in to question as of yet...

So...I'll keep doing it until told otherwise.

Usual day in the office of late... There's still a feeling of "waiting to exhale" with some of us regarding the transition over to the new onsite contract manager. Part of it is that he (I've at least heard that it is a man that has been installed in my previous direct manager's position) has not really made himself known to the contractors yet ( Read more... )

Last Wednesday in the office we of the Contractors learned our direct manager was removed from the contract. Have heard that the pair of supervisors on the client's side that complained about my manager being "Hard to work with" has actually led to bigger and better things for my manager ( Read more... )

So...decided to dust off my DVD of Red Dwarf series one.

Imagine my surprise at recognizing the actor playing Lister's drinking buddy (seen in flashbacks) Olaf Peterson is none other than Arthur Weasley from the Harry Potter movies (and later, Rory's dad from Doctor Who's latest season).

The British acting community runs in small circles...

Last night came home from work and got excited about the silliest thing. Before leaving work I called my complex's office as my furnace was not blowing heat. Wasn't sure if the pilot had gone out as it has in the past (I have gas heat here) or what.
