Though his pistols sat uncomfortably between Johannes and the rough bench from which he absently watched the landscape pass, such annoyances were almost beneath notice and his thoughts remained uninterrupted. His first interaction with the Prince of Phoenix was as one relatively unknown within kindred society, especially outside his home region.
