I just tried to watch Wolf Creek at home with my gorgeous man. We got some take-away Indian and settled down for a romantic night at home on the couch. What was I thinking

Wolf Creek was a bit scary, and extremely brutal (if you didn't see the end, you missed the worst of it) but I was "fine" with it. I have much bigger problems with supernatural horror, e.g. recently I couldn't re-watch Event Horizon past the first third. I think it's personality swapping / body-snatching plotlines that freak me out the most: figures of trust always end up possessed by evil, and that I find terrifying.
Well after reading the detailed synopsis, it seems I gave up at a good time. I find it odd that situations that I consider completely unbelievable are those that freak you out the most. hmm.
Haven't seen Event Horizon - maybe it'd be interesting to see if it scares me or not. The reason why I'm not a sci-fi / fantasy fan is because I can't relate to it (yes, my imagination died at the age of 14), so it might be a good experiment.
If it's any consolation, I utterly hated Wolf Creek, and pretty much wish I'd never watched it. I found the horrible things in it far too close to believable, and I'm not big on seeing horrible things :P
exactly. far too close to believable indeed. Thanks for the consolation :) I'm wishing I hadn't seen what I had - Afterwards, I saw Billy Connolly getting into a truck with a guy in Canada, and couldn't help but think of the awful things that could happen to him. I really liked the first bit with them just driving around. Too bad it had to turn so horrible.
