John had been expecting to see Edward in the room - he had not been expecting to see Joe there too though - sitting next to him. John did not need to look at Edward to know that he was hurting - he felt his pain as soon as he walked into the room. But when he did look into his eyes, he didn´t see this hurt, just coldness and detachment - he looked at John in a way that was so alien to John - there was no special smile for him like there usually was.
