Hey, for you trumpets that are interested, the MSU trumpet studio is starting a program this year where any middle or high school trumpet students that want to correspond via e-mail and receive help (probably in the form of lessons, but that has not been discussed yet) with any trumpet pieces they might need help on (or help with trumpet in general ( Read more... )

Saxes suck!

Just kidding. Trumpets are rockin', though ;)

By the way, I have been paired with Tim Grear, a junior from Paul G. Blazer High School, as a student. And hey, if all the trumpets sign up for this program from Sheldon Clark/Inez Middle, I may get paired up with one of you anyways. That would be cool.

TALK TO ME ABOUT THIS, GUYS! It's going to be huge. The National Trumpet Competition coordinators are even thinking of taking this idea (with credit to MSU) and creating a chain of trumpet helping type programs across the nation. That would be so cool.

If this is an e-mail/advice type of thing, I have no problem with it. But if it ever requires me to actually go somewhere, then it would be totally impossible. I have no time whatsoever to do ANYTHING. Even when I make time, I can rarely get a ride. Mom and Dad are going crazy on the house (they got started on the roof today! ^_^.) and are never home. I'm baby-sitting like crazy and I really need to go somewhere soon! But Morehead would be a big ol' problem there...

Don't speak of things you know nothing about. It IS an e-mail correspondance, and free lessons whenever you want.

Once again, there are no obligations on your part. Whoever you would be paired with would have an obligation to answer any questions you have as well as give you free lessons every now and then.

And there are a lot of topics and things that can be covered in e-mail (although more in person). It's not just for learning new pieces of music or working up all-district/all-state pieces. It is also for learning the workings of trumpet, advice about performing, stuff like that. Things we learn here in the trumpet studio here at Morehead and he wants us to pass down to trumpet students across the state. And hey if you guys got me as the person, I could give lessons when I came in on weekends, like all of you in one day at the high school. But it's not that often, however (I'm going to be here the next 6 weekends).

No obligations, no visits required, and Cameron shut up.
