"For a living, or for fun?"
"Either one."
"... Nothing."

Well, it's been a long time since that fateful New Year's Eve at Imrie, and plenty of things have happened in the span between then and now.  Unfortunately, one very important thing has NOT happened since then: I have not managed to figure out what I want to do with my life, ( Read more... )

Guh. That old feeling is already creeping in. john_in_boston April 5 2011, 04:21:06 UTC
Just as I cannot stand to hear recordings of myself (not because of the sound of my voice, but because of the things I said) I IMMEDIATELY feel dissatisfied with this post. Everything sounded better in my head. But hey, that's life!

I have had that conversation so many times. It makes me kind of dread meeting people/catching up with old friends, because I hate to have to say that I'm doing nothing.

Also, step 4 is totally why I started blogging. Needed to focus on the producing more than the consuming.

Basically, I "word" much of this post.

I know very little about this Americorps of which you speak, and what I do know almost exclusively relates to teaching or other aspects of education. I'd certainly be open to learning more, so we'll have to find some time for you to pitch the organization to me.

*hugs* I didn't know this was a thing you were going through. I empathize strongly with many parts of what you're saying. I might have better words later, but for now I give you hugs!

Thank you. I'm trying not to be too mopey in my posting, so hopefully future posts won't sound so sad.

Ah, so THIS is the post you were talking about at cartoon night!

I am amused by your lists that may or may not include making lists. The other things sound interesting as well. Had I known you desired a button maker, I would have tracked down the pieces from the one I had in the old days. I used to wear baseball caps COVERED with buttons that I collected whenever I'd go to punk/ska/rock/etc shows (sadly, the button maker I had didn't make the small ones that bands typically use.) We will have to discuss these ideas further, probably in person.
